Andor Season 2, Comfort TV, and a Rough Week | What's Killing Me This Week
September 20, 2026 · 13:07 · Hosted by Jeff Adams
About this episode
Andor Season 2 might be the best-looking Star Wars show Disney has ever made — the cinematography, the effects, all of it looks like a feature film. So why can't Jeff get through it? This week kicks off the new "What's Killing Me This Week" segment, where Jeff gets into the shows that drag even when they're gorgeous, the comfort TV he keeps coming back to, and the week that tried to take him out. Jeff digs into why Andor Season 2 is so slow despite looking stellar, whether Ted Lasso should've come back for another run, what makes a show "comfort TV," the streaming lineup he's watching this fall, and the moment at Epcot that reminded him exactly why he fell in love with film in the first place. Plus the TEMU "influencer" email that says he's finally moving the needle — and a brutal week of being sick that nearly derailed the whole thing. Real talk about TV, film, streaming, getting older, and finding the good stuff when everything else is dragging. If you've ever bailed on a show that looked amazing but couldn't hold you — this one's for you. Follow the show so you don't miss next week's "What's Killing Me This Week."

All right, Pedro, you ready? And we're on what the dilly son. Let's get right straight to it today here on the Jeff Adams show. Um, I got an email and it's, it's really, really humorous. It's one of those things where you go, Oh, wow. I am somebody I'm making moves. So I got this email and if you're familiar with the site team, you, um, I don't know if I've ever gotten a product. I don't know if I've ever bought a product since then from Team U years ago. My kids were younger and Angry Birds was a thing. They were obsessed with Angry Birds. And so for one Christmas, I finally found all these Angry Birds stuff. You couldn't find it anywhere. I ordered it on Team U and lo and behold, I get the items. You know, I got shirts, but the shirts were like miniature everything. Like they would fit like a stuffed animal or something. Like what the heck? team you and so there was always an ongoing joke with team you like um uh we were at this rehearsal thing last year for for something i can't remember what it was but it was at a church and someone was uh did this forest frank part and someone's you know whispered in my ear says team you forest frank and i just got a laugh out of it because it was true it's like you know why do all White rapper guys need to have mustaches and all look the same, nevertheless. So I got an email, all of that to get to this. And I got an email. It said, this is hilarious, right? It says, Team U influencer program, monthly paid collaboration invitation. And I'm like, man, I must be moving the needle here. If Team U is reaching. I'm moving the needle. You know, and it's just, you know, it's from the marketing team. And it looks like they've been hitting a lot of people up. I, you know, I was, you know, at, uh, Epcot with my friend, Michelle shooting a vlog last Thursday. And she mentioned that she was, Hey, I got this, uh, team, you influence her email. Like, Oh gosh, I go. So did I. So I just think that's humorous that, um, team, you has an influencer program. Who, what would you influence? What would you do that? I guess you sign up and you sell things on their platform. They'll give you commissions or whatever, but my Lord. Team you seriously, seriously, folks. And I'm just getting over battling through sickness. I feel so bad. I had our first meetup scheduled this past Saturday. I had to cancel. I got some kind of food poisoning or some kind of stomach bug, and it was god-awful, god-awful, so god-awful to the fact that I'm finally up and about today, um, doing stuff, got a busy week here at work. Uh, so I wanted to get to this Jeff Adams show, but man, uh, big thorn in my side. I never experienced this, but I guess Friday night was a bad fiasco that I have a hemorrhoid now self-diagnosed, you know, I that's the only thing it's described as, you know, and asked my mother, you know, I text her and said, you know, she was all, yes, that's definitely a hemorrhoid and boy, it's painful. And I never had one before. Like I said, and I don't know what they look like. I just know it's there. So that's been immensely painful. The last two days after having this awful stomach thing that I had, oh my gosh, it was brutal. It was so bad. I, it just, it was, uh, uh, But anyways, I'm here doing the Jeff Adams show and, you know, through the process, you know, the things that we talk about, you know, a couple of things, you know, a couple of weeks ago, I got the Disney plus subscription watch, which I talked about recently. I'd watched a Mando movie and I just thought it was like, eh, you know? Um, but I said, yeah, I'll have, have it up for another month. I cancel it right when I buy it, I cancel it. So I keep it for a month, just, you know, binge watch a lot of shows. So I watch Andor. the first season of that a while ago. And I said, oh, well, it's sitting there. It's been out for a while. Season two's there. And I got to say, like, shot-wise and the way everything looks, it looks probably the best out of all the shows that they shoot. I mean, it just looks, I mean, it looks like a movie. I can't really say that about the Mando movie. I thought Andor's got a lot better, you know, director of photography, the special effects. I mean, just everything looks stellar. Everything looks stellar in that thing. But I say that, it's like I'm in episode three of season two, and it's taken me a while to get through, and it dragged so slow. And plus, I feel like I just have a brain fog of all these shows, and they wait so long to come out with a new season. And so you forget all these things, and I'm sitting here. So each time, you know, typically when they do a new episode, they do a kind of like a recap. And even in the recaps, I'm still lost and it moves really slow. And I don't know what to think about it. I don't know if it was renewed. Um, but I, I hopefully it picks up. Um, I hate giving up on series that fast, but if it doesn't pick up, I'm going to bail out, uh, of watching it, even though it looks fantastic. I mean, the way it was shot film wise, just beautiful. Just a beautiful, beautiful, again, like I said, probably the best looking Star Wars series out there when it comes to the graphics and sci-fi stuff. You know, the special effects, the camera angles and all that good stuff. Do you have comfort TV that you guys watch? I have a lot of comforts in my life as of late. And if I find like when things even get bad with TV shows, like I feel like on apple plus a TV show, uh, that I enjoy a lot is Ted lasso, but you know, a couple of years ago, they kind of wrapped it up. They kind of brought it back and now it's based. He's he came back to England's border alert and he's coaching a woman's soccer team and I'm watching it week by week. I'm not too thrilled about it, but it's what I call comfort TV. I've grown to love Ted Lasso just like I would love The Office or Seinfeld or Curb Your Enthusiasm. It's just something I can watch over and over again and enjoy it. And it's just one of those soft comedies, corny, heartfelt sometimes, but I enjoy it. But I got to say this, Season so far is just like, eh, and it looks like one of those things where should have they, you know, you think they should have brought it back? That's the thing. I don't know. I don't know, but I'm glad it's there. It's comfort for me. I love watching on Wednesdays. Um, there's so many other shows that I'm looking forward to. It's coming out on Apple plus like the studio. Um, that was a phenomenal, phenomenal series. I'm looking forward to that coming back. There's a couple other shows. that I forgot to jot down, but man, um, the fall is here. New TV is here, new series. And I'm excited about it. I'm not much of a football guy. Um, I don't watch football. I mean, I mean, if it's there, I understand enough. I played a little bit. Um, when I was a kid watching, when I was a kid, know enough about the rules. So it's not like I'm dumb, but I just don't watch it, uh, religiously like a lot of men and women do in the United, In the United States, I just don't. I just don't get into it. I mean, I'll watch it. Like, if it's there, I can have a conversation, watch it, enjoy it. But I don't set time aside to watch football. I'd rather watch a film or watch some, you know, story or documentary if I have the time. So, you know, with that, I am looking forward to this. This is the best time of year. I love this season of the year. It's always spectacular for me. It always just feels good. It's still burning hot here in Florida, but you always kind of get this little breeze that says, hey, our fall is coming, which means in October, the nights will be like 68, 70 degrees. Really nice. I was at Epcot the other night, and it was down to like 70 degrees at night, and it was wonderful. The wind was blowing. It was kind of overcast, but it was still beautiful. Just that time of year. Fall is in the air, if you call it. I still wish We had the four seasons like everybody else, but when it comes wintertime, it's really great to be here in Florida. The weather is just unbelievable great all the time. But it's just that time of year. The pumpkins are out. People get their Halloween stuff out. It's just that beautiful time of year. And come here, let's see, how many more weeks? Looking at a day, man, shoot, just in two weeks, two and a half weeks, I'll be 54 years old. that's mind blowing to me. And the fact that I'm still here trying to resurrect the Jeff Adams show one last time. And the beauty thing of this is I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do. And I'm just doing what I know to do is just to communicate about things that I like. I don't want to get into news and politics. I don't want to talk about, I'm just not passionate about it. You know, I want to talk about life. I want to talk about what's going on, what I'm watching from the entertainment perspective. And do things that I love. Talk about film. Talk about these TV streaming shows. and talk about media in general and maybe even talk to Disney content as well. I'm not opposed to that as well. I'm very passionate about Disney, but hopefully when time allows, people will come in here and there'll be more of an interview process. Just doing that every kind of, every week is kind of difficult right now with the schedule, but I do have a couple of interviews coming up here. Um, and the next, uh, well, one interview, I shouldn't say a couple, but there's a couple that we're going back and forth, but one that's scheduled first week of October. So looking forward to that as well. But, um, what are some of the TV shows that you like? I like to know, um, is that even, am I even calling it the same thing? Uh, what is called now? Is it called TV shows or is this called streaming shows or, what do we call these things now? I still call them TV shows cause they're, they're many series or, you know, when I grew up, that's what we called them. Um, and another thing I saw that really inspired me and, uh, last Thursday when I was at Epcot, you know, the cool thing about having the pixie pass, the pixie pass is you can go, there's some block out dates, but it's pretty affordable for a Florida resident. You pay like 200 down and then 27 bucks a month, but you can go Monday through, You can't go on the weekends. You're blocked out. But there's some other blockout dates that they give you too, like Thanksgiving, Christmas, some of these bigger holidays. Spring break, you can't go during the week, which is fine. I wouldn't want to be there anyways. It's too crazy. So now I'm in the process of just slowing down. I got another channel. I'm vlogging as Disney as my backdrop. But Went to France, and I saw it before years ago. And we went to go see the movie there in France. And they're really like, hey, don't record in here. We don't want any recording. So I respected that. And, you know, the film is, you know, it was done in the 80s. But as I sat there and watched that film, I was inspired. And I was like, this is why I love film. the way it was shot, the way it was established, the way it was just beautiful and, and inspired me. And I was like, this is the reason why I got these passes to Disney world is because it pulls out creativity in me. And, you know, it's just one of those films. It holds a test of time. It's older, but the castles, the way it was shot and go, this is why I like to shoot. This is why I like to film things. Um, and it was inspiring. So with that, um, tell me what you'd like to hear from me. Um, But it's just this. It's going to be this format, laid back, whatever I feel like talking about, I'm going to talk about here on the Jeff Adams Show. Until next week, well, in a couple days, I'm doing two shows a week. See you on the next one. Peace out. Pedro, we out of here. When Jeff is buying, the prime rib's frying.
