You're listening to The Jeff Adams Show. You know, the news about that small jet going down yesterday in Palm Beach County has me thinking about how quickly life can change. People lost their lives. And somewhere, families are trying to make sense of something you really can't make sense of. Before anything else, my prayers are with them. I'm not going to sit here and guess what happened on that airplane. But something like this makes you stop for a minute. We get up, check our phones, worry about the bills, figure out what we've got to get done. And somewhere in all of that, we start treating tomorrow like it's already on the calendar and guaranteed. I'll call them tomorrow. We'll get together next week. I'll do that thing I've been wanting to do when life settles down. And listen, I understand it. There's always something that needs your attention. I'm trying to be more productive myself. But I don't want to get so busy getting things done that I forget to actually live. Have the conversation. Take the walk. Sit down with somebody you love without looking at your phone every 30 seconds. And if you owe somebody an apology, maybe quit rehearsing it in your head and make the call. I'm saying this to myself, too. I don't have some big explanation for why things like this happen. My faith doesn't mean I have an answer for every tragedy. But it does give me somewhere to take the grief and somebody to pray to when the words don't come easily. Today, I'm praying for those families. And I'm reminding myself that an ordinary day with the people we love still in it is a pretty precious thing. Let's give those people a little more of our time while we have it.
